I've been meaning to post about this for a long time, but I kept hoping I'd get a better picture. Now that they are virtually done blooming (it's been nearly 3 weeks!), I'll settle for the picture I did get. Anyway, these purple trees are actually called Jacaranda and they are everywhere! They seemed to bloom overnight because I didn't notice them and then all of the sudden there was purple down every street. Here is a link if you want to learn more about them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacaranda

A Weekend With Family
On Friday were very thrilled to have my Aunt Shelly cousin April and Zack come to visit us for the weekend. In their typical fashion of travel we did tons of stuff in a very short period of time. We had a wonderful time even though we burned up in the convertible with the top down. You just shouldn't do that when it is 95 outside.
Here we are cruising around Beverly Hills trying to look cool, when in reality we made a LOT of people honk and get mad at us because we had no clue where we were going. Not so cool.
On Saturday we left early in the morning to go to Santa Monica before Shelly, April, and Zack had to leave. Early morning was the perfect time of day to be there because as we were leaving it was getting very hot and crowded. Joel and I think we should got to the beach a lot because the high where we live was 104 and by the ocean it was only 84! What a difference!

Like Any of You Care

Hardly any of you will know who this person is, but while Joel and I were out tonight we saw Christian Campbell. He was in that really old movie Picture Perfect. It's the one with the contest to be the perfect family for the soda pop company. Anyway...he came into the restaurant where we were eating with a yoga mat strapped onto his back, and I thought he had a face that I'd seen before. It suddenly came to me where he was from. Anyway, if you've seen the movie you might care, and I thought a couple of you may have. :) Oh, and Joel agrees with me that it was him.
