Alright Already
Really, I had no idea that any of you cared that much. :) This is going to be a quick post because I have to finish packing before I catch a flight this afternoon that will take me to the third week of Joni camp. (Hold back your tears, girls.) Between addressing wedding invitations this week, I've had a bit of time to do some sewing on the blanket and other things. Lets start with a picture of the fabric shall we...
Since this picture, I've decided not to use the solid green. It isn't quite the right shade. I have enough fabric between the others, so I'm leaving it out. I spent my free time one day cutting all of the above fabric into 4 inch squares. Next picture...
Ah, yes...I've finished about 20 squares so far, but didn't get a picture of them all. Here are a few completed ones. Now you have an idea of the pattern. It is coming along, and I'm really enjoying the process. Oh, and the black isn't a solid. It's a polka dot.

On Saturday I pulled off the road and went to a yard sale. I'm very glad that I did because I found about 5 yards of the below fabric for only 50 cents! I wasn't stained or anything.
Since I've been in the mood to make picnic things, I decided to turn it into picnic placemats with a pattern from my Simple Sewing book. I even had the ribbon I needed in my stash.
Complete with a pocket for the silverware. That is my favorite part.
I'll be making more of these when I get back. There is so much of that fabric. I guess that is all for now. Have a great week everyone.

Picnic Blanket Part I
This morning in the mail I received the first fabric for the picnic blanket that I will be starting soon. These lovely prints came from Super Buzzy, and are even more beautiful in person than on the computer screen. Now I have to decided on a pattern that won't waste ANY of it. The mushroom magnets are REALLY cute too! Even though they are small, they are very strong.

For now the magnets will be here for me to enjoy.

A Picture is Worth 1000 Words
Last night Alice and I went with the A. family to Alyssa's 8th grade graduation to help out with the twins. When it was over and everyone was talking Alice attempted to get a picture the twins and me. We took this picture four times in order to get the A. twins to smile for the picture instead of right after we took it, but it was worth all four in order to get this one.

Of Which I am Very Proud
Here is the new tote I made last Saturday. The pattern came from this lovely new book I bought at Borders. Everything about the book is beautiful. There are so many nice patterns inside, and they were not hard to follow. (I guess that is pretty clear since I made the tote by myself and I’m not that experienced of a sewer.) I'm really looking forward to attempting some of the other projects this summer. Oh, and the total material cost for this bag was only $6.00. :)

A Day In New Jersey
On Friday we took the day off of work and went to a Disability Expo in New Jersey. (That makes two new states for me in one week. Delaware being the other.) We met up with the T***** family from camp and had a nice day visiting with them and walking around.

Some Knitting
I have no idea why this is underlined. Weird. It won't go away.
Joan told me she was taking me on a field trip last week, but wouldn't tell me where. We ended up at a really great yarn store where I bought this pattern. I just so happened to have some the right kind of yarn with me to make this sweater (Don't ask), so it turned out perfect. I had to buy a size 0 circular needle, and it quickly became my favorite. It took the place of my DPN size 1, and that is really saying something. I took it out of its package and sighed right out loud.
This is how far I am on the sweater. It's almost time for the sleeves.
My beautiful needle. Yeah, that is sort of sick.

Okay, I'm Posting
I may not be in any of these pictures, but I thought I would post anyway. Since I got here I've been helping out a family from camp every Saturday. Their Mom needed some extra hands on Saturdays when the girls are home all day, and I'm really happy to help. I'll take pictures of me with them when I go this Saturday. :) Sorry about that! Candace and Ciara are 7 years old and really fun to play with.
Playing store.
Ciara was really into the marble game last week.

Let's Go Fly a Kite
Alice and I have been having together days. Maybe it is because I’m leaving this weekend and won’t be back for awhile, or else it is because deep down we’ve always wanted to have together days like Naomi and Hannah. Today it has been windy because a storm is coming, so we decided to get out the kite we bought while vacationing in North Carolina. We weren’t the best at it, but it was kind of hard because the wind was rather gusty. Below are some pictures and videos.
Alice and the kite.
Waiting for the wind to pick up.
The kite and me.
I can't believe I got her and the kite in this one. :)

Here is today's picture for Micah...our swamp. It is a lot closer to the front of the woods now. Just a few steps in fact. We spent a lot of time in the woods when we were little. It looks so different back there since they cut down the trees, that I don't like to go and look very often.

Here is the tree that we used to play on. We would stand on the branches and bounce to shake the leaves. It's sad that the branches are dead now.

Here is the nice bunny that sits in the garden on the side of the house. Somehow over the course of the winter her ears came off. Isn't it awful? I bet the wild bunnies did it. They have always been the jealous type. ;)

Our Sunday Outing
At last I get around to posting something new. :) Sorry it's been so long. I've been out of town for a few weeks, and since I got home I haven't really done anything bloggable. :)
This afternoon Alice and I went to Knox farm to go for a hike. We hiked for about an hour or so and then went to the grocery store. If photobucket is working I'll post some videos too.

Hi little sheep. Will you stay that way so I can get a better picture of your face?

Hey thanks!

Here is Alice at Knox farm.

Nice path.

Nice fence.

Nice deer.

Nice moss.

Nice tree.

Not so nice snake. You should have seen Alice jump. Don't worry. We conquered our fears of snakes that are 1/2 inch wide and stepped over him.

Alice found this blanket for sale at the grocery store and decided to try it on.

Easter is coming and that means Peeps! I won't tell you how many I've already eaten this season.

Yeah, that's nice. :P

We drove home by way of Micah's favorite road and stopped to take a picture for him.
